Correction for Richard McCluskey it was 1840

My great grandfather emigrated around 1940 from either Ireland or Scotland to NY his name was Richard McCluskey. I am trying to figure out where he may have emigrated from.

When Bloscadh Ui Cathain was alive, neither Londonderry, Northern Ireland nor the United Kingdom yet existed. He was born in the Tuath (Kingdom) of Fir na Craibhe agus Ciannachta Glinne Geimhin, which was in the Diocese of Doire (Derry)

My great grandfather James McCloskey married Bridget Breslin in 1878 in Frosses Donegal, they lived in Croagh 5 miles from Dunkineely. According to the marriage certificate his father James McCloskey was still alive. James and Bridget had 6 children, Ann, James, Mary Jane, Francis, Catherine and John. James and Bridget died 1924 & 1925 both are buried in Bruckless Cemetery.
